Personal lines to protect your automobiles

Liability

We all experience accidents in life, and they can be especially scary if you are the one considered at fault. Liability provides coverage to an at fault accident for two different limits: Bodily Injury (BI) and Property Damage (PD). Bodily Injury can be further divided into different types of coverage; per accident or per person.

Collision

If your car is damaged in an accident caused by a collision, this coverage will protect you from needing to make out-of-pocket payment to repair/replace your car up to a chosen limit if you are at fault. If you are not at fault, the other person's insurance will cover it because California operates under an at-fault insurance system where the driver responsible for the accident is liable for damages.

Comprehensive

As referenced in the name, this coverage protects your car from damages outside of a collision or typical age/wear and tear. This can include things such as:

  • Weather (fire, hail, etc.)
  • Theft
  • Damage
  • More

Un/Underinsured Motorists

In the case that you or you or your vehicle experiences bodily injury or property damage, uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage protects you if the other party in an accident does not have any or adequate insurance coverage. It is required in the state of California, learn more about these regulations from LegalClarity.Org's article: "Do I Need Uninsured Motorist Coverage in California?"

Medical

If you are injured by an accident, regardless of if it's your vehicle or you were the person driving, you are included in this coverage for medical payments.
